2024 AGM

Adil (Peace in Palawan language), Kathara Membership Kapwa,

Tail end of the year, the season when Bakunawa’s mouth points Sidlangan (East) and their tail points Katungan (West) in the Philippines. On Turtle Island the Winter Solstice approaches, the darkest time of the year.  Kathara Society calls upon our community stakeholders, those who support Indigenous Filipino Identities, who strive towards solidarity with IP (Indigenous Peoples) of the Philippines as well as our Coast Salish host nations as we reflect upon our continued commitment to Padayon, to keep moving forward. To navigate our diasporic existence as a collective, in our greater communities and within ourselves with more regard, intention and direction.

This year our AGM will be held online. Please join us in reflecting on our 2024 Program Achievements and usher in more to come in 2025.

Please note that our AGM has been rescheduled to the below time.

Saturday February 22nd
From 5-6pm Pacific Time.

Please confirm your RSVP by sending an email to katharainfo@gmail.com

Indigenous-identifying community members are all invited to attend without cost. We accept donations from non-Indigenous members to be a full voting member. To ensure your membership for 2025 please forward $20 Interac payment to katharainfo@gmail.com with the security password: Kathara. We can also accept paypal payments at https://www.paypal.com/ncp/payment/TTFDHNADJ89UL

Why hold an AGM? That seem's a little colonial

Fulfilling the institutional components of an annual general meeting (AGM), we create this event with intention beyond colonial constructs to connect together as diasporic Filipino/a/x on personal and collective decolonizing journeys.
