KAPWA Gathering & New Moon Ceremony 2020
5-7pm Pacific/ 8-10pm EST ONLINE
Wednesday April 22nd 2020 Earth Day
As the world faces the 2020 Global Pandemic we work together. We are gathering separately together to join, lend and strengthen our spirit as we move into the uncertainty ahead of us.
Join us on Earth Day, Wednesday April 22nd with the New Moon in Taurus as we invite our networks to come together in ceremony and in council to share with each other what we are doing that others may be inspired by or participate in.
We will be joined by a special guest and keynote speaker from Mindanao from the 2016 and 2019 International Babaylan Conferences. We will be hearing about the current situation facing the Lumad in Mindanao and learning a solidarity prayer that we can add to our practices.
We will be announcing also some further online events and welcoming input in forthcoming series events including:
Lapu Lapu Day Sunday April 27th Southern Hemisphere/26th Northern Hemisphere which focuses on our warrior arts and culture and the legacy of Lapu Lapu as it relates to this new decade. Guro Shishir Inocalla will share Filipino Martial Arts practices for self-isolation and Babette Santos, sharing an introduction to Kuntao martial dance. 5-7pm Pacific.
This event is by donation which will be to support the ongoing work of both Kathara Society and Center for Babaylan Studies as well as our guest presenters. We would also be making donations to go towards lumad indigenous communities.
