PILIPINO INDIGENOUS ARTS COLLECTIVE

PATREON

Our Mission

  • To promote the Pilipino Indigenous identity and cultural legacy

We honour the rights of the Indigenous Peoples of the Philippines.

We uphold the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples and hold ourselves accountable to the Calls to Action of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission.

  • To be in solidarity with the Indigenous peoples of this land.

We follow the Indigenous Host Nations protocols which inform our own community practice.

  • To nurture our relations

We center our elders and forward an intergenerational approach that connects future generations. The wisdom brought from our relationships sparks our commitment to learning and unlearning.

  • To decolonize with arts and culture

Our creativity is a way for personal and collective transformation. In re-indigenization, we discover our decolonial joy to sustain systems change

  • To identify the Survivor Spirit passed on through our ancestry.

We draw upon a trauma-informed, transformative justice-inspired approach to our healing. We dialogue on Filipino Post-colonial Psychology to address the challenges we face as a diaspora.

  • To inspire leadership

This work is collaborative justice. We build opportunities for non-hierarchical approaches in decision-making as we lead together and create spaces for hope and celebration.

  • Our Story

Founded in 2002, we are celebrating twenty years shared with a diverse group of people, who have come together with much courage, in the spirit of solidarity, to explore the Indigenous in us all.

  • Vision

    An expression of Love

We are an organization making art on the unceded and ancestral lands of the Coast Salish Peoples. This work is in solidarity…
